Basketball/Bowling Room
This room was done for two teenage boys who wanted a bowling basketball themed room. In order to combine both sports, we choose to pick the colors of orange, blue and black. The walls were all done in Benjamin Moore paints. Wall were a light blue with dark blue accents. The comforter was done in black with a large basketball cut out of orange fabric and embellished with black strips. This was easily achieved by using a pre-made down comforter and then using the fabric on the top. The basketball was then put on just before sewing the comforter together.
The shelving were made out of 2 x 8's. The bowling balls were cut in half and secured to the wall by our contractors. Basketball were also cut in half and filled with styrofome in order to maintain their shape. These both were used as "shelf mounts". The shelves were secured in place by brackets first and then the bowling and basketballs were placed over the brackets. Actual bowling pins were used on the shelves as decorative accents.
Life size bowlers and basketball players were cut out of plywood and mounted on the wall.
